BS’D
Today’s daily dose of emuna is dedicated to the refuah shleimah of Chaya bat Baya who is suffering from the machala and in desperate need of tefillot. May Hashem send her a complete healing among all of Klal Yisrael who are sick and suffering b’karov, b’rachamim, Amen.
Kabbalah teaches that there are 5 layers to the Jewish soul. The Chaya and Yechidaare the two upper levels which we never directly encounter in this world. These two layers are continually united with Hashem and understand that this world is an illusion.
However, in this world the true essence of life remains concealed and the purpose of our existence lies hidden. Just as our body hides our soul, so too the truth of Ein Od Milvado (there is nothing other than Hashem) remains elusive.
At the time of Mashiach, he will reveal within every Jewish soul their Yechida,Hashem’s will and our purpose for existence. As though removing a veil that has been obstructing our vision, we will suddenly understand everything in our lives, including our purpose in life and the reason for our pain.
However, though we cannot continually experience these upper levels in this world, we can kindle or ignite sparks of them. The Lubavitcher Rebbe ztk’l teaches that each time we are made aware of the delusion of this world; we ignite the Yechida, which essentially is the spark of Mashiach.
All of us have the ability to reveal within ourselves this eternal connectedness, the G-dly spark within. How? During each inevitable hardship we experience, we can identify with the ‘Yechida’ by asking: “How would my Yechida respond to this difficulty?” Or “What would my G-dly, higher soul what me to do or feel or think now?”
When we manage to ignite this G-dly spark in this world, we are gifted with the ability to overcome and grow from life’s difficulties. It may be supremely comforting to realize that we are all unconditionally and continually bonded to Hashem. This recollection can serve to console the spirit, enveloping us in a loving embrace which eases the pain of this world.
